We went to the farm today for a friend's birthday party. We greatly enjoyed being able to identify the White-Crowned Sparrow. They have such a lovely song! They winter here, so we won't see them again in a few months.
And this one if among my most favorite birds! We see them at the farm quite often. Their scarlet color never ceases to amaze me. This is the Vermilion Flycatcher.
We'll be out for a nature walk tomorrow. We'll see what else we find. Currently, we're studying small mammals like rodents... and marsupials. We'll let you know if we find an opossum. Those are the only local marsupials on this continent!
